How to study mathematics?

How to study mathematics?

Whatever we want to know about language, society, science, economy, we can get the information we need by reading books or asking someone for an explanation. But mathematics cannot be learned that way.

Continuity

For example, if you want to understand 8th class science or social science, you can study directly. But 8th class maths can't be understood if you read directly to know it. Maths book for class 8 can be understood only if you have read maths books up to class 7 before that. Because the continuation of mathematics studied till class 7 will continue in class 8. Therefore, mathematics can be called a sequential language.

It is because we do not understand this fact that we force students to study 10th and 12th directly without studying it when they study 9th and 11th. This is why they are forced to memorize and study.

Even a student who scores high in all subjects cannot score high in Mathematics. Because no one understands that it is a serial language.

In school, especially students who score 100 out of 100 in 10th class are not even able to pass in 12th class. Those who scored well in class 12 could not score even the minimum marks when they came to college.

All of a sudden the math subjects students face are thrown into a very difficult situation.

Mathematics is a unique skill

Learning mathematics is not like learning any other subject. This requires different learning skills. For other subjects just read the books for them, understand them and then write the exam. But, to succeed in maths, some more strategies need to be mastered.

Mathematics is like a foreign language. Trigonometry is a language; Among them, Sin and Cos are new words of the language. Without knowing these new words, it is very difficult to understand the language.

Just by knowing the four steps given below, you can excel in maths.

1. Understanding

2. Expressing understanding

3. Applying what has been learned

4. Looking back

Let's look at some examples.

We study about the Himalayas and learn about its characteristics like length, height etc. Then we recall and write again in the exam. You don't need to visit the Himalayas to know if what you've read about Himalayas is true or not. But, you can't pass Maths in the above way.

If there is no ability to use it, it cannot be called mathematical knowledge.

Like music, painting and learning other languages, mathematics is a special skill.
